Childlight is committed to transparency and collaboration in all aspects of our work.

Recognising the importance of reproducibility in research, this space is home to our learning log to share insights and findings from our ongoing research and projects – to help illuminate a clearer path for others.

Searchlight 2025 shines a light on the multi-billion dollar business of child sexual exploitation and abuse, looking at who benefits from it, emerging risks and preventive measures.

Measurement considerations for technology facilitated CSEA

A white paper from Dr Anna Krzeczkowska and Professor Deborah Fry aims to provide an overview of the main challenges in relation to measurement and terminology of TF-CSEA and offer potential solutions to overcome them in future research.

It is intended to support researchers in the field by describing Childlight's ongoing efforts to develop the conceptual and measurement frameworks, which constitute a baseline for further expert considerations and iterations. Those frameworks are intended for universal application across diverse domains, including academic research, legal systems, and pedagogical practice, and offer a holistic approach to children’s rights and safeguarding.

The white paper is primarily intended for researchers, policymakers, third sector organisations, and frontline practitioners working in child protection and online safety. However, the target audience and relevance of this report extends beyond academia and professional services, and it could be helpful for audiences new to the topic.

Impact matters to Childlight and sits at the heart of everything we do. Read more on how we achieve this.

Explore, Engage & Contribute

Whether you're an academic, practitioner, or policymaker, we invite you to explore, engage, and contribute to the collective mission of safeguarding children worldwide.

Our aim is to not only support the advancement of the child protection research field but also to foster a culture of open knowledge sharing. By providing access to our reflection we hope to inspire robust discussions, drive innovation, and encourage others to build upon our work.

Together, we can illuminate the path forward in creating a safer world for every child.
