Young children in a classroom from various nations lay hands on a large world globe

Childlight

Childlight’s purpose is to safeguard children across the world from sexual exploitation and abuse.

Our vision is to have child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) recognised as a global health issue that can be prevented and treated.

Our mission is to use the power of data to drive sustainable, co-ordinated action to safeguard children across the world; improve CSEA data quality, integrity and reproducibility; and be recognised as the leading independent authority for global CSEA data.

Ten Children Every Second

Over 300 million children each year are affected by online sexual exploitation and abuse. Childlight's research investigates the impact globally.

Investigating scale and nature

We use our data to support governments and organisations in taking action to ensure no child lives their life in the darkness of sexual exploitation and abuse. Our two key projects are the Into The Light global index, estimating the scale of CSEA and Searchlight, which examines the nature of this global health emergency.
